Last Sunday, 6th of November, a new show opened at the famous art center in Beijing – 798.
Baiyaxuan Art Center is hosting an international exhibition of prints where four of my large prints are also included. This is thanks to the enthusiastic promotion of my work done by my good friend Nannan Wang.

On 1st of July 2011 Stichting NOBILIS published a book dedicated to the work of Peter Lazarov 1991-2011; written by Pieter Jonker, photography and layout by Sijtze Veldema, Stilet Vormgeving Dwingeloo.
The 304 pages volume contains more than 500 reproductions divided on several categories – free prints, illustrations, ex libris and occasional graphics.
Special attention has been given to the PEPElpress editions of fine press books produced since 2002.

PEPELpress presents PROSPERO’S BOOKS by Peter Greenaway.
The limited edition of twelve made in Chongqing, China, in March 2011, contains six large size multicolored silkscreens, printed on high quality handmade Chinese paper.
Seven copies are bound with leather, five are paperback. All copies are in a bag from recycled material.
Size 50,5 x 61 cm.

The programme of the 6th International Triennial of Graphic Arts in Sofia has occupied six galleries.
Marcus Frizing from Luxembourg received the Grand Prix.
The Three Prizes of Equal Standing went to the Bulgarian printmakers:
Peter Lazarov (1958), Dimo Kolibarov (1965) and Vasil Angelov (1987).
Zoran Miše Zoc (1984) from Macedonia took the prize for young author.
The final exhibition of the Triennial shows 220 prints created by artists from 32 countries.

A special honorary diploma for development and promotion of contemporary graphic art was awarded to the Guanlan Original Printmaking Base located in Shenzhen city of south China’s Guangdong Province.
That’s where, in the International Artists Village at the Guanlan Original Printmaking Base, Peter Lazarov engraved his two prints in 2009, awarded on Tuesday in the Sixth International Triennial of Graphic Arts.

Francis Dirix took Pieter and me to the restored coal mine in Genk. It has been made accessible in many ways: as a museum, exhibition space, cinema, shops… However, first and foremost, it is an incredible place to feel the spirit of 19th century industrial revolution.
All the time I felt as if walking through the sets of Patrice Chereau‘s Ring in Bayreuth….
